My current projects that I am working on:
- The Robot Enlightenment Series. They started out as a project just for myself – to make 26 little robot automatons all themed around a journey of enlightenment (or to find happiness). It was never meant to be something for sale. I was struggling with feeling really lost and kind of hopeless and so I picked a theme that I thought would force me to think about positive words and activities in hopes that I would feel better. It was just a side project and part of an online challenge to make a piece of art every week using every letter of the alphabet in order. Part of the challenge was to share them on-line to help overcome a fear of failure, and it grew into something bigger than I had imagined. I’ve been making a few extra of each design along the way to help pay for this adventure. I’m currently on the letter “W” which I think should be “Wonder”, so that is what I am currently working on in the background.
- Circus sideshow posters – starting with a magician that actually performs tricks within a picture frame (the prototype is finally finished!). Then I plan to do the world’s strongest man & the half woman/man and see where my whimsy takes me for the rest.
- A series of Halloween themed automata kits for a 3 part class that I am teaching the last 3 Wednesdays in October this year. The kits are a “Ghost in the Attic”, “Gone Batty” & “A Ghoul in the Graveyard” (pictures/video below). I have finished the kit for the ghost and I’m having a workshop to test the assembly of the bat kits te 3rd of August. I will add a limited number to my shop as I learn how many people are going to be attending the class in October and can produce extras.
- Most recently I made my very first wood geared clock that actually tells time. It’s accurate to within a minute or so every day – which is pretty good for a clock with all wood parts.
You can click on any of the images and it will open a short 10-15 second video I made of each one working. Enjoy!

I will be teaching a 3 automata classes in October of this year (2025), so I’ve come up with a little Halloween themed series of automata kits that can be built in a few hours and don’t require any tools.
I made an entirely wooden clock! I have always wanted to make the ultimate kinetic wood sculpture and I finally had the skills to make it a reality. It’s not my original design. It’s a clock designed by Boyer Designs that I downloaded the assembly instructions for. I wanted a clock that I knew could work before I tried tackling my own design.
