Adorable tiny wooden robot standing on a clothespin flying a kite. The tiny robot’s arm moves up and down pulling on the kite to keep it aloft.
One of my hand made “Clip Art” series of automata. I call this one “Flight”.
The first reaction from everyone when they see these for the first time is “Aww, how adorable!”. Then when they realize it moves… well, let’s just say I have sold a lot of these at our local Saturday Market this summer and everyone adores them.
The wooden robots and clothespin are unfinished (not painted or oiled) so they can be customized by the recipient. The tiny robots are made of hardwoods and leather with spring music wire to move the arm and suspend the kite. The kite is made of naturally colored hardwood and has multi-colored embroidery thread for the kite tail.
Dimensions given in the listing do not include the wire & kite which adds approximately 8 inches to the depth and 5 inches to the height. I didn’t want someone to think that the robot was larger than it is, but shipping is slightly higher because of the box size needed to contain the whole automaton without bending the spring music wire.
These are collectable art pieces that are not suitable for small children because of the tiny parts that could be a choking hazard (and a potentially sharp spring wire).
